A couple of lovely dog leg par 4s. Great for a bit of fun on a sunny afternoon, often quiet enough to allow some chipping practice around the greens. Beware the water on the 8th!

Had a brilliant day out. All the staff were very friendly and willing to offer help and advice when they felt people were unsure. Had a great game of footgolf after a few baskets of balls on the range, overall a great time was had by the whole family.

Not a long course, but recent development of holes has elevated this test of golf to a very high level indeed, without question the best in York, and indeed North Yorkshire, in terms of its quality, playability, and high standard of maintenance. The well established mature trees, allied to the natural heathland and heather make this a wonderful walk never mind a pleasure to play. The greens are superb, even during the winter where the roll is always true. Drainage work in recent years has meant the course can recover quickly from the increased rainfall we get these days. The clubhouse is sensational, with a newly refurbished bar and function room where many weddings and celebrations regularly take place, and you can enjoy one of the excellent real ales available at an affordable price.

Played the Gents open on 17th May '18 and the greens and fairways were very good. Lovely golf course and club house, well worth a visit and great location in picturesque surroundings.

I was given a golf lesson as a birthday gift, what a great present it turned out to be. I'm a total beginner, yet after a few shots, Michael encouraged me by saying I had a decent natural swing. I would highly recommend The York Golf Academy. Michael's calm, informative method of teaching was very enjoyable. I shall definitely return for some more practice sessions and look forward to the day I'm ready for a golf course.

After my lesson in June, just been back for a refresher. Took my wife for a lesson as well and her confidence was much improved. As last time, an excellent session and both helpful and productive. Follow up email from Michael is a good reminder of what to focus on. We would both recommend a visit. We intend to go back again to make sure we are still on track.

It’s a great golf shop. If you do your homework a bargain can be had on price match! Every now and again a genuine sale item can be bought. Otherwise if money isn’t an issue you can get everything a golfer needs in one store.

Really great assistance in-store I felt, not just in the fitting but also a few tips too which showed what I could get out of the club when I applied them in the simulator. I saw spin rate drop in half, and consequently was just a few yards offline rather than ~50 yards offline with my previous driver (and therefore longer). For me, the stats play a huge part in my decision of whether to buy. But of course, hitting full shots in the simulator helped me understand how it feels in the hand too. Great stuff.
