Amazing driving range with around 20 bays, many with automatic tees and some with heaters for winter. 50 balls for £3.50 as of summer 2018. £10 to play the 9 hole golf course, taken one star away for the condition of the greens, they are all quite patchy and difficult to putt on, making the course quite a challenge! A couple of lovely dog leg par 4s. Great for a bit of fun on a sunny afternoon, often quiet enough to allow some chipping practice around the greens. Beware the water on the 8th!
Had a brilliant day out. All the staff were very friendly and willing to offer help and advice when they felt people were unsure. Had a great game of footgolf after a few baskets of balls on the range, overall a great time was had by the whole family.

Not a long course, but recent development of holes has elevated this test of golf to a very high level indeed, without question the best in York, and indeed North Yorkshire, in terms of its quality, playability, and high standard of maintenance. The well established mature trees, allied to the natural heathland and heather make this a wonderful walk never mind a pleasure to play. The greens are superb, even during the winter where the roll is always true. Drainage work in recent years has meant the course can recover quickly from the increased rainfall we get these days. The clubhouse is sensational, with a newly refurbished bar and function room where many weddings and celebrations regularly take place, and you can enjoy one of the excellent real ales available at an affordable price.
Played the Gents open on 17th May '18 and the greens and fairways were very good. Lovely golf course and club house, well worth a visit and great location in picturesque surroundings.

I was given a golf lesson as a birthday gift, what a great present it turned out to be. I'm a total beginner, yet after a few shots, Michael encouraged me by saying I had a decent natural swing. I would highly recommend The York Golf Academy. Michael's calm, informative method of teaching was very enjoyable. I shall definitely return for some more practice sessions and look forward to the day I'm ready for a golf course.
After my lesson in June, just been back for a refresher. Took my wife for a lesson as well and her confidence was much improved. As last time, an excellent session and both helpful and productive. Follow up email from Michael is a good reminder of what to focus on. We would both recommend a visit. We intend to go back again to make sure we are still on track.

I enjoy using this gym as even at its busiest times, it has more or less sufficient parking and space indoors. It is housed within a former nightclub. PureGym offer a no frills service and this means the costs are very reasonable.
Decent budget 24 hour gym. Good size.

Pleasant staff and good equipment. Have been coming here for years now and could not recommend it enough for anyone looking for a relaxing gym
A well appointed gym with great facilities and pleasant staff. Customer Service could be improved. Watch out if you join up on a special offer membership price. Our membership fees went up after 12 months. There is also a 3 month cancellation notice period. Although these were apparently explained at the time of joining there was no reminder that we were approaching this date. Had we known we would have given notice 3 months before our contract date. A simple email would have resulted in us not being effectively tied into a 15 month membership. Having spoke to Anthony he has said that he will bring this up with the GM. On the whole though I have enjoyed my time with Roko but the experience has been soured by some poor customer service.

I like this gym. All equipment I need. Would have given full marks if it wasn't for: 1. Overly loud music. It manages to drown out my own headphones!!!!! 2. Bar bell pads have vanished from the gym floor!? I'm going to have to purchase my own. 3. One or two members are busy bodies/pests and need to mind their own. They can also be a little intimidating hovering over people to finish. That's just not OK in my book.
Live the gym but wish the music was turned down and more varied nit just the boom boom boom I can hear.

Good lads. No messing. Pretty much walked straight on after a safety briefing. Fastest lap of the day.
Patient, helpful and professional staff who know what they're talking about . Track has a great surface and despite it being quite small is fun to drive and makes for close racing. Flags very clear. Can get too crowded on track but only a problem with very inexperienced drivers triggering the air horn too much or drivers just quick enough to make it hard to pass. In some situations it is difficult to drop back as well if it is busy. Overall though, the best karting I've done which is why I've been many times. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks for continuing to provide a great karting experience every time I visit.

Good assortment of shops, supermarket, car showrooms and cafe's. It is continually growing with it split into four sides. One side is of different car showrooms. Two other sections are different arrays of types of shops. Then another side to private businesses as well as national chains. There's also a pub and many eateries which may take your fancy. Growing all the time!
A little spread out and a lot of empty shops. But the shops there is offer a great range. Paths are a little unsturdy in places. Be aware that above certain shops there are anti bird nets that are not maintained regularly and often dead birds hanging from them. Can be a little distressing for little kids to see.

A lot to offer. Apart from tennis and squash, there's a huge field for football and other sports and a bowling green. Plus a good sized recreational area and bar upstairs in the clubhouse. A great facility for Haxby and Wigginton.
Standard York league affair has plenty of fields main two are roped off with dugouts center pitch has some portacabins. With tea bars toilets changing rooms, sports field has some low level training lights, parking good, has tennis bowls squash etc on site too.
